Creative and fascinating colorful crystal eggs made from simple ingredients, ideal for decoration and as a gift.

Ingredients

  • 1 white pipe cleaner
  • 1 cup baking powder
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • Food coloring (multiple colors)
  • small bowls or dishes
  • flat dish

Instructions

  1. Bend the pipe cleaner into an egg shape and twist the ends together to hold it in place.
  2. Place the egg upright in a shallow dish so that the bottom touches the surface.
  3. Mix 1 cup baking powder, 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tablespoon salt until mostly dissolved.
  4. Divide the mixture into small bowls and add different food colorings to each bowl.
  5. Use a dropper to apply different colored solutions to the bottom of the pipe cleaner.
  6. Allow the liquid to slowly rise to the top as the colors mix and crystals begin to form.
  7. Leave the egg undisturbed for several hours until it is covered with colorful crystals.

Notes

Use warm water for better resolution. Experiment with different colors for unique patterns.
